Dysplastic moles (naevi)
- risk factor of developing melanoma -

Three developmental stages of dysplastic moles
(the first part) MUDr. Jan Hynek

A nevus (the medical name for a mole) is a benign (noncancerous) melanocytic tumor. Moles are not usually present at birth but begin to appear in children and teenagers (except congenital nevi).

Having a dysplastic nevus, or atypical mole, increases a person’s risk of melanoma. Sometimes we see mole, which hasn't all signs of benign tumor (There's not subject hereof article these indicia described). Development of dermatoskopy enables to use no invasive way how to look underneath first layer of skin (stratum corneum). Rules for determination different steps of „discomposure“ at mole are exactly defineds.. We call such mole dysplastic. Article highlighting the three stages of dangerousness at dysplastic moles. Some literature reflects on development dysplastic naevus from small risk to peril and rise of melanoma.

My designed digital investigation is functional, simple and disproportional inexpensive than completely purchased apparatus.

Dysplastic nevi (nevi is the plural of nevus) look a little like normal moles but also typically look a little like melanoma. They can appear in areas that are exposed to the sun as well as those areas that are usually covered, such as the buttocks and scalp. They are often larger than other moles. Some people have many dysplastic nevi.

Dysplastic nevi often run in families. If you have family members with dysplastic nevi you have about a 50% chance of developing these nevi. Someone with one or more dysplastic nevi and with at least 2 close relatives with melanoma has a 50% or greater risk of developing melanoma.

At recent time we succeed in early detection of melanoma. Discovery of dermatoscopy brought revolutionary progress. advantages in genetics is the other step. Mother’s marks (nevi) are for the most part in benign phase and for patient are not dangerous. Dysplastic nevi represent far smaller ratio.
